Hello. I am a Rackspace Reseller and have recently run into a confounding problem. I have sent in a product feedback for in the portal, however I would like to comment here as well in the hopes of generating significant feedback.
After an extensive clarification call with Rackspace Support, I understand that the SfB offered by Rackspace only allows communication within the company, and no communication with an outside entity. I have been told that if we were to move the whole domain to Office 365, then the SfB there would allow full communication. Here is my problem:
As a reseller for Rackspace and for Microsoft, why would I bother talking to Rackspace at all if I am going to go full Office 365? The attractiveness of Rackspace is the ability to have a hybrid environment where I can have cheaper emails for service accounts and employees that do not need full Hosted Exchange. The problem I am facing is that several clients have a genuine need for SfB. In one case, I have an enterprise client with 20 domains, each a legitimate company that we are attempting to bring on board. Rackspace's hybrid environment is extremely attractive to them for the cost savings. As it is currently set up, however, each of this company's domain users could not even talk to each other over SfB, much less customers and vendors.
Here are my thoughts: 1) Offer a less expensive version of Hosted Exchange for service accounts, etc. (I have seen this at other large resellers). 2) Open up Skype for Business as fully usable to those Hosted Exchange users in a domain under Rackspace. We would accept this even if there were a small charge to add the service.
As it is right now, I am having to scramble to find another conference/collaborative solution as powerful as Skype from a third party. To anyone reading this, if you have suggestions for a solid alternative to Skype for Business, I would greatly appreciate it.

I totally agree with you ! This is the dilemma we are facing when thinking about transitioning to Office 365. Mainly the lack of cost effective option for the service accounts. The times I've talked to Rackspace, they've mentioned the Exchange kiosk accounts which are limited to 2GBs of storage and can be set up as IMAP or POP3 accounts in Outlook. This doesn't seem like a viable option to be honest.

A recent article in the academic research publication The Conversation argued that displaying incoming email as plain-text is safer than HTML. Unfortunately, most major email providers do not offer this option to their users.
We agree that plain-text is a safer way to read email, and at Rackspace, we’ve let our Webmail users disable HTML display in their incoming email for more than a decade. Read more here on how Rackspace Email is a safer email for you.

Kacie, while I’d definitely not switch to RS e-mail (no offense) I’d definitely agree that viewing plaintext e-mail is wholly safer than HTML. Thanks for the post!
