    So much value for free!
    The Spiceworks Help Desk has allowed me to step up my game. I can track issues, see trends, review history, show progress and so much more at no cost, which is a big win for me and the company.
    What are the pros?
    Easy to use for the admin and end user. Creating tickets through the customized portal is simple. The mobile app is a huge time saver too when on the run.

    Amazing software. Works great for our environment
    This system works perfectly for the workplace environment we have. Our IT department consists of four techs and we can equally manage 500 + users by utilizing this software. We are able to keep track of who is working on what, what has been purchased for each ticket, etc. The community base is just the icing on the cake. There are tons of knowledgeable pros in the community that are willing to help and share their knowledge.

    Is this a good solution for me compared to osTicket?

    I am technically an MSP so I manage off-site clients. Is Spiceworks usable for that or is it better suited for on-site IT management? Just deployed osTicket last night and currently have DameWare Central Server, trying to get it correctly configured for customer support, hopefully it works for what I need but asset management and helpdesk integration would be really nice if SpiceWorks would work for me...

    Spiceworks phone home issue

    Is Spiceworks still reliant on connectivity to the internet for functionality? I remember losing the internet connection for the organization and not being able to log into the local application during the outage. For this reason alone, the organization contemplated other vendors.


    I have just tested the following: On the SW server I disabled the NIC and I tried to logon to https://localhost:9676. No problem at all. The second test was an enabled NIC with a valid IPv4 IP address, but without a gateway, so basically no internet connection. And again: no problem to logon to Spiceworks.
